My arrival in France was greeted with green fields and trees, which was welcoming and warm to me.  With the continuation of the drought, everything was turning yellow and brown, which has given me a sense of unease and displacement.  When visiting Fontaine de Vaucluse, we saw some of the richest greens in the water, and an instant calm came over me.  That was my lifeline and my comfort while in France, seeing everything die.  I decided to focus on the greens of Fontaine de Vaucluse and in my sketchbook changed the hue of some ordinary things that I was seeing (rocks, leaves, etc.) into different greens, imagining a world around me filled with green.  Out of my sketchbook these mono prints grew, with hand stitching added at the end.
